This screen creates the details of action restrictions by general type. Action restrictions are to prevent certain tasks from being performed if college-based policies are violated. Examples include: 1. Scheduling classes for non-standard times 2. Granting transfer credits for a course not in articulation agreement 3. Permitting a student to enroll if outstanding balance exists.
Select an existing restriction type using the list-of-values button in block one. Enter a start date for this rule and an error message (reason) to be displayed if rule is not met. Either an SQL text string can be entered to enforce a complex rule or the restriction may be tested against a specific table and column. In the third block select the group or groups of users which will be permitted to override this restriction.
